Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Freepost to social welfare?

A family member is on short time for their work (working 3 out of 5 days). They fill out a form every week, for how many days they worked and post it to Department of Social Protection. They have been paying for a stamp every week and this doesn't seem right to me. Is it free postage? I couldn't find much info online except that the illness benefit is. Noting specific about short time.

As far as I know it is Freepost, but they should be able to certify casual Jobseekers online through their account on mywelfare.ie or even drop the dockets into the letterbox in the local office as well.

It is not free post, can your family member not set up a mywelfare account as they can upload these forms and send electronically, I appreciate nit everyone tech savy but would be the most cost effective and quickest way to submit forms. Alternatively they would have to drop these into local intero centre weekly, keep in mind, due to GDPR issues, letterboxes are no longer external so forms can only be lodged after opening.

I suggested this aswell. I was told by my family member that they say to post it. I'll look into it now myself and see if it can be uploaded.

Are they honestly complaining that it is costing them €1 a week?

I would tell them to get a grip.

Postal method is precarious as documents can be delayed, misplaced, I certainly wouldn't be doing it that way. All that is required to set up a mywelfare account is phone number and email address (valid), obviously your family member needs to do this. I'd also advise when set up, a quick call to the intero centre to let them know, always advisable to keep in touch with them etc. There is no stated requirement to post in documents, generally putting them in the internal mailbox was the norm but my welfare facility a new way, as long as they are recieved by SW. Good luck,

Mod Note: Please read the forum charter. You do not know anyone's personal circumstances. This is a valid question from the OP, if you do not have anything helpful to add, please do not post.

When I was on casual dockets I was told by one of the ladies in my local office to just write freepost on the envelope.
