Chalk Teeth

My 7 year old never had any issues with teeth until now, his baby teeth were all fine. He has now lost the bottom and top 2 center teeth, however the new adult teeth are badly stained with white marks, not sure if chalk teeth is the correct term for this. The dentist recommended a special gel that we use to protect them.…

However from a visual point of view they are very unsightly. It's not an issue now because of his age, but I don't want it to be an issue for him in his teens. What options are there for him, would crowns be the best way to go later?
