I had 2 patients in recently who had this treatment!
One was fine, the other had their bite completely destroyed, teeth are straight but they can’t close their teeth together properly, they will need to have a further full course of ortho to correct it, the company won’t fix it as they are now finished the aligners and they’ve washed their hands of the patient so they are stuck like that. So unethical as this would not be something a lay person could have foreseen.

I haven’t really looked at the link but from what recall they never saw an orthodontist in person which seems ludicrous.

As per usual on this forum, this type of remote or DIY orthodontics is not recommended. You have no contact with the person planning your treatment, and your suitability of aligner treatment is rarely considered.

Go to a proper orthodontist, this is not something to tender to the lowest bidder.

I am in the process of ruminating over orthodontic work and have an initial appointment with an ortho in my area booked. Due to covid it appears the waiting times are a few months at least in my area.

I thought I would conduct a little experiment in the mean timewith SDC. As the initial "treatment" plans are free, I got myself scanned. I am a "great candidate" apparently. I know that I am not a great, or even suitable, candidate and should have been refused.

I think the ridiculous results speak for themselves. Firstly, I cannot see how all of this movement would be safely done in 4 months. The alignment is fairly shocking and I would then have a crazy overjet just to top it all off.

Results (Open in chrome and just wait for the animation on the left side of the screen to load for a minute. Once loaded, you can clicking move the model around):

Let this be a warning to anyone seriously pursuing this line of "treatment". They will accept everyone and it appears downright dangerous. The hip vibe is clearly targeting unwitting teenagers/young adults who see this as a quick cheap fix.
