Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thinking of getting one for the former spare room/ current office
Has anyone got one of these? All the ones I've seen that are supplied by Irish companies have slightly flimsy looking legs.
Need something solid if I'm going to persuade my folks into it!

I have one just assembled, seems very solid, see below link to products

I am making modifications to mine so its not finished yet and no one has slept in it yet, however the guys in cork (link above) have one on display in the showroom so you can see it in reality there.

    Thanks JimmyW
Does the packaging mention the weight capacity of the assembled bed ? I see a weight mentioned on the website but i presume it is weight of the actual unit (178kg for the double is pretty hefty though ..)

The legs look flimsy on them all, I got the spring loaded mechanism kit from Hideaway beds, who give a 5 year guarantee, the legs looked flimsy in comparison to the hinges which looked over engineered, most of the weight is carried by the hinges though.

It Is incredibly heavy alright, i had to disassemble the door off or it to move it into the room it was going into, The whole thing is sitting on a metal frame and the timber elements are not really structural on the one i got, to be fair i did get the older model which has a 8/10mm metal plate leg as it suited my application better, see link below. I am a big man myself and I would not have any concerns going into it myself

If it's your office have you thought about the wall bed/ desk combo? My friend has one and it's brilliant.

I made my own wall bed from a kit and buying the wood cut to size locally. worked out about 1100 euro

They all have a flimsy-looking leg, but I believe they are quite solid.

I spent a long time looking at wall beds. for me, it was the finish on the cabinets.

https://wallbeds.ie/wallbedsintro2.html high end and I think they do a wooden leg that flips out. I know one in almost daily use for about 12 years.

    https://www.hiddenbed.ie/ l considered these too.

https://www.wallbedking.co.uk/ these guys seem to have a slightly better leg and they were being advertised in Dublin through donedeal and adverts for a while.

https://www.bbtfurniture.ie/ I got a quote and rendered pictures off this guy, the stuff looked lovely and I almost went with them, but lockdown came and I'd loads of time for a project.

https://bigmickey.ie/product/vertical-wall-bed-2/ This guy has a thread on boards and always comes across as super helpful gent.
