When and where, the last fellow from this area that spent money at a BNM auction is locked in a cell and wife not visiting.

Little bit about it in the local paper. BnM Blackwater, between Belmont and Shannonbridge.

Very good link. Would each machine come with a welder and a tool kit for fixing up as you travel along.

They look as rough as a bag of spanners IMHO. Maybe if you had a fiat winner or a ford 8210 at home that needed parts it might be worth considering. But the condition of them outside wouldn't make internal parts too desirable.

Some of the MF 135s might be worth a look for a winter project. I heard years ago they used to bury all the tracked versions because BnaM didn't want anyone else harvesting turf, whether or not there is any truth in that I don't know.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

The half tracks are very cool to look at but unless you a turf cutter they aren’t much use.

Half thinking of looking for a scraper tractor at it

The 135 look alright. Dont forget they would all have been looked after mechanically with fitters on hand.

Tbh, it doesn't look like they replaced the fitter once he left 20 years ago. There's a load of pieces missing there that even I could replace like wheels and alternators that weren't touched.

I’d agree. They are in a shocking bad state.

    Anybody go to this?

    Anybody go to this?

Yes what lot were you interested in? Everything expensive.

    Lot 15, the 160-90 made 15750+everything.
Lot 150, 8630 on floats, no rust made 13500+everything.
    Lot 139, f140 made 6500+everything.

Very few bargains. Some of the big fords had a lot of rust around cab.

    What did the 3600 make?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,001 ✭✭✭timple23

    What did the 3600 make?

    Lot 134 non-runner, 2100+everything.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,001 ✭✭✭timple23

Is there a reason why axles are painted yellow on the big tractors?

  • Registered Users Posts: 229 ✭✭Waternotsoda

Forgive my ignorance but what does "plus everything" mean?

    Eg bid 3000
    Vat.23% 690
    Commission 5% 150
    Vat on commission 23% 34.50

    Total 3874.50

    Wasnt the commission 10%?

Was that 160 90 running? Must have been in fairly good condition to make that?

Was started while there. One of the better ones of a bad bunch. Think it had a reg, good tyres, but no arms/linkage. Most lots either needed tyres and rims, linkages, had rust. Nothing had a pick up hitch, only drawbar.

Doubt I will go to another. There might be another big one coming up with tm's etc. I don't know when, it was a BnM worker saying it.

The paint is to mark the machines to deter theives.
I did a summer with bnam a few years ago, the 160/90 were used for ridgers and would have been driven by the more seasoned guys and were usually minded better to keep them happy. If the air con stopped working it was straight to the workshop to fix it even on production days. Young lads like me were on the f130's hauling trailers of peat and those tractors got some abuse..and the blower worked if you were very lucky. I remember the whole hitch unit getting pulled off mine one day as I hit a rut.. Some craic though. The big ford's were used for milling but they werent great at the trailer work..very thirsty machines. 110/90 were great tractors there but were a bit light, the f130 were my favourite. F140 were harvester tractors.
