    BOOOO!!!!! Should've been me. :) I said I'd vote for 80p and listening(reading :confused: ) to Dada's recent posts, it's well deserved so well done(both of yis). Seeing as both of you go to UCD(I think) will we see more of a boards stance in UCD :) There's probably loads of users in UCD, but I never bothered joining Compsoc or Netsoc, waste of time IMHO :)

    Hehe, thanks seamus - you're alright! Ah sure we'll see how the board comes along. There's enough boards users nationwide for it not to turn into a UCD thing and sure, everyone knows the UCD net access is apalling anyway. I haven't an account, I mean, what's the point? The connection is always way too slow! Bleh. It'll be interesting how this B&L student gets along though - I hear he was out PROTESTING on Grafton St. on Friday! Letting the side down, 80project!

    I didnt know they were both UCD before picking them. I care not and any UCD bias is unwelcome. I doubt its an issue.

    I think the community needs to decide the rules they want their cops to enforce beyond commonsense.

    Good idea, mas'sa. Ok then. Anyone with any particular ideas for general rules and guidelines for the board post them here and stuff and we'll see what we arrive at.

    Nah any biase would be boooorring. I don't think Dada sounds like a real 'UP UCD'er anyway.

    Someone a few weeks ago posted up an ad for some halloween night. While blatant advertising is a real nono, it would be cool if people posted up any decent pub nights coming up or anywhere that starts doing good offers. Stuff from college societies would be cool too, as long as they are free-for-all(ie not members only). Whadya reckon? :)

    We'll just have to see the extent to which people start organising pub nights or club nights. Certainly, if they're posted by customers who are telling people about those nights (good or bad times), that's OK, but if it gets to the point where some shower like the C&E are advertising all their events on this board by clandestine means, those posts will go bye bye. I think it's pretty easy to spot a genuine post from a false one.

    So: maybe the bottom line is - average Joe's comments welcome, promoters' announcements unwelcome.

    Well Bit of a shock actually-
    quite ironic the one day I decide to come into UCD on a saturday to actually do some study, that such an honour is bestowed on me. **me bows to the boards crew**

    As regards rules...
    I suppose common sense applies when dealing w/ "Muppertry" but I suppose we'll just have to wait and see what is thrown into the ring before we can decide whats accepatable and whats not:)
    So I suppose its best ppl post on the issue so as to get a consensus!

    BTW Dada,
    You should use your UCD a/c on Saturdays.
    My eyes are haviing trouble keeping up w/ the speed of the page loads. If only we could all have it in the comfort of our own homes...

    Although, you could just hop on the mathsoc bandwagon and come down to UCC to the intervarsities, "supporting your team of course".

    It is pretty freaky meeting ppl face 2 face after only hither-to meeting them online. You dont know whether to call ppl by their handle or what! But it is pretty cool though.

    As for my avatar, I didn't pick it based on looks but mainly because I claim to be the biggest Jerry Seinfeld fan in Ireland;) (might use that if I ever go on Mastermind... And your specialist subject is...Jerry Seinfeld). Thats not to say its a million miles away from a general physiological profile:)

    Further to the board rules...
    I suppose we all agree that the goat porn you were talking about yesterday DeV is a NoNo;)

    I do agree with you tho about meeting ppl offline so to speak, I always call ppl by their name, but thats just habit really, couldn't ever picture myself shouting out in a pub "Oih! 80project, make that 2 treble whiskeys and a murphys, alright?!?", just doesn't have that casual, "I'm a normal pub goer, with a life outside the boards" sound to it now does it?

    Never learned much about him, I've heard about some of his stuff, and seen some extracts, but I can't call to mind his proof exactly! It's going to be bothering me all day dammit!
