In a report from the drainage division (Dublin City) the following is stated:

"-The drainage for the proposed development shall be designed on a completely separate foul and surface water system"

Does this imply one system for foul and one system for surface?

    Or

Does it imply one system for foul and one system for surface and neither connected to the mains drainage?

Two separate sets of pipes. One set for foul and one set for surface. Standard practice for many many years.

Where they subsequently go is then the issue. Ideally your site/location is served by two separate foul and surface water sewers. (Foul run by Irish Water and Surface run by the local authority)
