I wonder what plans EI have in place to mitigate this if it happens.

Then you dry lease...

A lot of the pilots are EI anyway and the cabin is entire EI

ASL still own the aircraft

As stated, just dry lease the aircraft. Anyway it’s a temporary arrangement that will be wound down from when the new a321LR come on line

Its more than a paper thing though you would have to get the 757's on EI's AOC, the 757 is one of the few Boeing types EI never actually operated

Insurance would be EI, but I imagine the line maintenance would be contracted back to ASL

EU will just comply and nothing will change. Its what they agreed.

Worst case scenario they get the A321LR sooner or operate these flights as a charter maybe?

Aer Lingus can’t get the A321LR any sooner than they already are, the introduction of the aircraft is probably on a tight enough schedule as it is.

I’m sure the airlines involved have been in contact with the EU to ensure they uphold their side of the bargain with US so they can continue their wet lease operations. It’s in nobody’s interest for the EU to ignore it.
