Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Athenry were particularly disappointed with the cancelation of their Parade. Folk have been putting a lot of work into it and they had a 2020 project joining in 'n all. All these cancellations are a bummer, but can't be helped.

So before the Parade got cancelled we kinda thought it was on the cards and thought of a kinda plan 'b'....

You see, Athenry Community Council organise the Parade, and the Credit Union sponsors the prizes that are designed by an artist every year, they're dated so they are unique to that year. Among other things, it's a headache to reschedule. Between one person and another we've come up with the idea

Athenry Digital St. Patricks Day Parade

So the council are inviting people, irrespective of where you're from, to join in. You upload/stream your film onto facebook (or youtube??) and post it onto their facebook EVENT page, which is hot linked in the title above, on St. Patricks Day before 6pm. That's it really. What could you do??

    Record your band practice
    Film a skit
Run your float through your town or down a road and film it
Draw a load of pictures to design your own parade and film it
Dust of your tin whistles and record yourself playing Fáinne Geal an Lae
Employ your cat/dog/donkey to draw a 'mini float' and film it.
Get the kids to design a float or do a pedal car & tractor run in the driveway.
    Film yer brother Irish dancing...

We'd be delighted, in Athenry, if folk joined in and made this corona virus, just a little less crappy... :D
