    Day off work with a lie-in
    Breakfast is porridge with cinnamon, chia seeds, goji berries, crushed walnuts, milled linseed and red grapes.
    With fruit afterwards.
    Scrumptious! Has that crunch!
    The bowl is four inches deep.

    Sadly, it turns out they're from China. This will influence future purchases. Butter beans are native to Peru, so that would be slightly better.

    Apparently China is dominating that market - the dried organic bean/pulse/lentil/pea section.

    Still, their chick peas are European and black-eyed beans Peruvian. And we personally bulk-buy organically-grown dried broad beans, lentils, quinoa, marrowfat peas and similar things from the UK.

    Beetroot, chickpeas, onions and tomatoes,  on wild rocket and spinach with balsamic vinegar. Potato salad made with Hellmans' mayo. 
    And of course some prerequisite 'red-sauce'.

    Mish mash of leftovers: the bbq beans, the coconut curry and golden air fried wedges.
    Looks good. Tastes better. 
    It's easy to limit animal suffering.

    My daughter made this - everyone else had the 'normal' version.
    My version is vegan, so great !
    I asked for the recipe but it was too long winded for me at the time !

    Well it's OK -
    I am not a full Vegan - just Vegetarian.
    However I have reduced all the dairy except for the odd smoked cheese !

    This cheese is fine but it would need to be more readily available, also in slices and possibly smoked flavours etc.

    A lazy meal on Sunday evening but delicious. Lazy because it was easy to make but also because it undermines my aim to avoid foreign or processed foods as much as possible! Still, all EU ingredients to the best of my knowledge.

    A jar of arrabbiata sauce, mixed with cooked green and black lentils and a leftover bit of nut roast crumbled up.

    Poured over wholewheat spaghetti in olive oil and salt.

    Topped with "parmesham" and window ledge alfalfa sprouts.


    Everything organic of course, except the salt.

    Last night's was even better but I didn't take a snap. It was large local spuds and beetroots baked and topped with a leek sauce followed by rhubarb crumble. Gorgeous.

    I love the Quorn Fishless Fingers with oven chips and a can of peas. Add some ketchup, salt, vinegar, pepper (on peas) - scrumptious. 🍽

    I've seen cans in wholefood shops. It's very much like jackfruit, which I prefer.

    A regular dish for me is chick pea (or whatever pulse I have) curry. It's usually scrummy. Adding fresh lime zest and juice just before serving seems to give it great depth.

    Doesn't look great on the picture but I'd happily serve this up to anyone.

    Onion gravy with sunflower mince, purple carrots, peas and arame seaweed, in raw crushed garlic-mashed spuds surrounded by roast purple sweet potatoes and beetroot. All organic except the seaweed.

    Roast beetroot is to die for…

    Brussels sprouts! This time of year? I love the brussels sprouts season, eat tons. Don't tell me they were frozen? Are they really any good once defrosted? I like by brussels just lightly steamed (and grated raw) and have horrific memories of liquid veggies.

    Here's what I had for dinner a week ago-ish:

    Tatties 'n' neeps wi' haggis.:rolleyes:

    Left: purple carrots and swedes mashed with black pepper.
    Centre: McSween's vegetarian haggis, a rare treat. If you've never tried it, you should. Oh, with a radish on top.
    Right: mash with raw garlic (yes, we like garlic).
