Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looks like more of the same tomorrow
When is it settling down ............

Yerra look Easter is only round the corner and wouldn't it be lovely to have it nice then.:) Never any point in having it good too early and then paying for it when it should be good. So I'll gladly take it now.

The sun has emerged here and although still biting cold, it makes a difference to the dwelling through the glass. Strong sun!

Some sharp little showers of hail/rain floating about today.
    Very blustery in them.
Nice and sunny in between though.

truly lovely outside right now. Just walked my oldest cat up the drive and left him rolling in sheer joy on the grass.. him not me. Long may it last. Gentle breeze, warm sun, ocean quietening.

The 7-day period, 10th to 16th March 2019, was the windiest 7-day period since 28th February to 6th March 2018 at Malin Head (mean wind speed of 25.1 knots) with a mean wind speed of 24.9 knots. Shows just how benign Winter 2018/19 was.

    Rain.
    Beautiful rainbows.

Seemed to be a bit of land based convection across the country looking at the radar earlier, first time I've noticed that this year. I'd say if there's one dividing line between winter and spring its when showers start getting more intense over land rather than dying out!

Cold winter air around the Artic has begun it's Spring retreat as the sun gets over the horizon at more northern latitudes. From now on it is ever more difficult for colder air to get this far south.

    Welcome to Spring.

Lovely today in Cork City!. After a drizzly start, it turned to sunny spells only now clouding over. Warm breeze, warm sun. Really felt like spring. First time feeling a warm breeze in months! Cork Airport reporting 16 degrees, Moore park up to 17!

Things are looking promising for plenty of high pressure over the next few weeks.

Decent enough in D8. Cloud now building though so sunny spells are turning more into prolonged cloudy spells. Light breeze taking the edge off the temperatures but it could be a lot worse!

16.8c at Dublin Airport today which is the second highest March monthly max temperature at the station of the 21st century so far and highest since 2012 (18.7c). 16.8c at Cork Airport too.

Gotten cloudy here in Dublin 13 also after having gorgeous sunshine whilst I was in school earlier (always the way  ) but sun is trying to shine again.

    None weather related

An equinox is a moment of the year when the sun crosses the Earth's equatorial plane, changing celestial hemisphere.

Today , the equinox will be at 21h58 local time, it is the time when the sun will be perpendicular to the equator. As such, tomorrow the duration of the day and the night will be almost the same.

    19.4c in the UK today.

19.4c might seem like an exceptional temperature at first sight but 4 out of the past 9 Marches {2017, 2014, 2012, 2011} have recorded a max of at least 20c somewhere in the UK.

This 19.4c figure is lower than February 2019's max of 21.2c - just goes to show how exceptional February 2019 was!
