Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Spent convictions?

    Hi,
I have three previous convictions dating back a few years. I have a conviction for possession of one ecstasy tablet and criminal damage both in 2001 and a drink driving conviction in 2006. Just wondering if these would still be on my record or would they now be spent convictions?
    Hoping someone may know!

If you have more than one offence you can not get convictions spent

Nonsense, that's only if the multiple convictions lead to custodial sentences

You can only have one relevant conviction spent irrespective of weather it's custodial or non custodial, however that does not apply to a conviction for any of the following:-

    (a) the Road Traffic Acts 1961 to 2015, other than section 53 of the Road Traffic Act 1961,

    (b) section 37A of the Intoxicating Liquor Act 1988,

    (c) section 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 8A(4) or 9 of theCriminal Justice (Public Order) Act 1994.

In such a case you can have multiple spent convictions for the above, if you have more than one conviction for other than the above then none of those convictions are considered spent.

A person with both a possession and a criminal damage charge has no spent conviction entitlement.
