Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Metcalf showing a surprisingly good jab so far.

Tabiti is just a good athlete. Very average boxer.

Very messy fight but Dorticos taking over

Massive KO from the KO Doctor

KO of the year contender for sure. What a shot.

That's a satisfying one. Tabiti is awful to watch.

Dorticos has to be the most unCuban Cuban ever. He fights more like a Mexican.

Byrd making a mess of this Breidis fight.

    Eh what

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,394 ✭✭✭megadodge

That was a rather chaotic second round.

Interesting to hear official opinions after that.

Only caught the replay, how is that not a DQ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,394 ✭✭✭megadodge

Whatever about the elbow, the fact that the Pole was knocked down heavily ages after the bell rang should have been taken into consideration. He should have got a timeout of some sort at the beginning of the next round.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,131 ✭✭✭✭normanoffside

Breidis describes his Elbow as a ‘dirty punch’ 😂😂
He then admits to hearing the bell at the end of the second.
I winder will there be repercussions to this win?

Should be either Breidis dq or a no contest and refight. Byrd should be forced to retire along with his crappy wife. Not sure you can get a worse refereeing performance than that.

The thing is I think Breidis would win a rematch but Glowacki’s team can surely argue that the elbow caused the concussion which led to the first knockdown.

Agree that Byrd should retire. He bottled the elbow situation and Everyone heard the bell at the end of the second but him.

He even wanted them to fight in after the 2nd Knockdown in the 2nd which was bizarre.

I'm not making excuses for him, but hearing the bell on tv (where it is miked up to the tv system) and hearing it live in the ring when you have thousands of Latvians screaming their heads off is a completely different situation entirely. It has happened many, many times over the years when there is big crowd noise, just not for as long.

Breidis himself said he heard it!

This is very scrappy, not a great watch but Kid Galahad is doing well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,394 ✭✭✭megadodge

Warrington struggling with Galahad's southpaw style. Can't impose himself like he normally does. This will be very close.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,739 ✭✭✭ASOT

Brutal scrap imo. KG fighting the right fight to get the win though

I think Galahad is winning but the rounds are close. Galahad is making Warrington fight his fight.

Ronald Macintosh needs to shut up.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,331 ✭✭✭jeremyj1968

It's like an Okolie fight, all arms and shoulders.

Very hard to score it. Galahad should probably have been docked a point for holding at this stage.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,331 ✭✭✭jeremyj1968

    Anybody scoring it?

7-5 Galahad but not with any confidence. Not a great fight and a horrible fight to score.

Given the nature of the fight and the way Galahad fought, and the nature of the press conference, I would worry about how they get Ingle and Galahad out of there if he gets the decision.

    Id give it to warrington

The judges saw through Galahad's incessant clinching. That was a tough fight to watch at times, glad Warrington got the win although it could have gone either way.

The two youtube live commentaries I'm watching are calling this a "robbery"!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,908 ✭✭✭Morrison J

Never a robbery. Close fight that could've gone either way. Going to need a higher output to beat Warrington in Leeds though.

Would be avoiding Shakur Stevenson like the plague if I'm Warrington though. Slicker southpaw than Galahad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,435 ✭✭✭weemcd

Not a robbery, pretty poor fight. Galahad landed clean shots and made Warrington miss a lot, but he had no solid output of his own, spent too much time initiating the clinch, smothered the work and held on. A bit more activity Galahad would have had this, but I'm sorry you can't win a world title like that. He also was very close to getting docked a point a few times in the fight.

Warrington just won and no more, I'd have him up by two but I didn't score it. I sincerely hope we never see the rematch.

Was not expecting a 2nd round KO. Master class from Fury but Shcwartz offered abolutley nothing and was down with a light jab through the gloves.

Lads he's made some mistakes in the past but Tyson Fury is a f*cking legend. I pray he keeps his head together and stays on the right path.

Yes it was a nice little card. Kudryashov has surely nowhere to go now.
