Thought that myself as I'd say there would be a decent amount of crossover fans (myself included). Was going to go to Metallica but I've seen them twice and never seen the Cure so that's my mind made up. Didn't see anything about the promotor, though could be an Aiken event?

Would think it'll probably be Kilmainham or Malahide, or maybe 3arena.

Super live band.

I saw them 3 times in Ireland - twice in Dublin, Electric Picnic and once in London.

They really put on a great live show and clock in at over 2.5 hours generally. Unlike other bands they appreciate that many of the fans are there to hear their hits and they really have a huge catalogue to draw from.

I hope they play Kilmainham, that really would be a great start to the Summer.

I picked up a ticket for Suede playing in Bord Gais Theatre in October. Thought I'd get it for less than 50....65 euros.

I can't see tickets being less than 80 quid.

Always saw Biffy as a bit generic rawk, but to each their own. Can't abide by music without an atmosphere.

There's crossover insofar as they're both live bands.

I'm more of a fan of their early stuff Seventeen Seconds, Faith, Pornography. But even when they went commercial there is some solid albums over the years.

I think the chances of them coming back are getting slimmer and slimmer as they've really cut back on gigs. Should be great.

"Kiss me" is one of my favorite albums of all time
kinda lost touch with them after disintegration, which is also a masterpiece

Love all sides of them. The quirky pop era with the Tim Pope videos is impossible not to love. Also adore the more atmospheric funeral pyre of albums like Faith.

Always saw Disintegration as a marriage of the two sounds. It's dark, yeah, but most of the songs are immensely single worthy. Plainsong has to be one of the best album intros ever, with Suede's Introducing the Band.

Easily their best album, for me.

Still get goosebumps when I listen to Plainsong. Brings me back to the RDS in '89. Great opening track for a concert.

The Cure vs Metallica is no decision for me. Didn't like Metallica even when they were good and Cure are one of the best bands ever. Any idea where and when would tickets come up? Shouldn't be long I imagine and you'd want to be on the ball.

We flew over to the Hyde Park gig during the summer and the one in Dublin is about a 20 minute walk for us from Drimnagh too

You can bet The Cure aren't going to charge 100 Euro odd for tickets as well.

Saw them only 2 years ago in Amsterdam. Amazing. 2.5 hour gig, 3 encores one of which was all from Seventeen Seconds. I was nearly in tears.

Saw them years ago in London too, a cracker. EP here was poor. Short set, sparse croud, just wasn't the right setting for them.

I want to see them kill it here. Looking forward to this big time.
