Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

According to this story, scientists in Brazil managed to clone the giant prehistoric owl Ornimegalonyx, but the creature unsurprisingly went into a rampage and took a scientist's eye out.

As you probably guessed, it's a false story, apparently started by a satyrical website. The photos are of a great potoo (Nyctibius grandis), a nightjar relative (the same photos have been doing the rounds under labels such as "mutant", "alien", etc. It looks nothing like Ornimegalonyx, tho.

Not paleontology, and I doubt anyone in the forum would fall for it, but here it is as a record of what people will believe sometimes...
