Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    What's deltaVAT?

The difference between irish and german vat I assume. It's 2% for what it's worth (21% vs 19%)

a newbie question on the subscribe and save option : the future deliveries will be charged at the price available on the delivery date or the one available at the set-up of subscription time ? ( some products are reduced at the moment of subscription - will the reduction maintain or will charge at the price available on the subsequent deliveries? )

Most of the time it remains at the lower price, but it is open to changes by Amazon - no guarantee against increase in prices.

However it will still be discounted compared to the standard price for one-off purchases, if the item price does go up in future.

Subscribe and Save price can fluctuate up or down, however you receive an email coming up to the time of purchase to review it and can cancel if you want

I bought the mi with scales from the bargain thread. Very impressed with.

Also need to start a diet as my phone now is telling me I'm a fat bastard.

I've always noticed that when I pay for something on Amazon with my debt card that I get hit with a 46c fee, anyone else experience this and is there any way around it? I don't tend to use Revolut much, besides keeping it topped up with money is there anything else to do with it?

It'll save you 46c minimum every time you use it!

Plus if you're on aib, they charge you 20c every time you use your card. Still don't know why I'm still with them!

I thought you had to pay for N26 transactions, that's why I never use them, always Revolut.

Harry Potter DVD box set (all 8 films) from Amazon.fr. Was showing up initially at €14.95 but is now €15.08 + €5.34 P&P. So total is €20.42

Am I missing something or are these dubbed in French?
Also some reviews saying counterfeit or low quality. I'd like to get them as the kids are getting to a good age for these, but the reviews are putting me off.

They have a free plan the same as Revolut

N26 Basic at €0 a month offering free ATM withdrawals in euros and free payments in any currency
N26 You at €9.90 a month offering N26 Basic plan features plus free withdrawals worldwide and an Allianz insurance package
N26 Metal at €16.90 a month offering N26 You plan features plus dedicated customer support and exclusive partner offers

Is the basic plan unlimited? I wouldn't be interested in ATM withdrawals, just Amazon in sterling or supermarkets in Euros

Well if that’s the case, you’ve a UK address selected. No way it’s shipping if you’ve a ROI address as primary.

When the deal was posted it was being sold by a seller at that cheap price that would ship to Ireland (I think it might have been KingDian and fulfilled by Amazon). Now it is being sold by Amazon EU which does not ship to Ireland.

Nope, it was Irish address and a delivery date of 18th. It was a good deal but I had no use for one. Just tried to give feedback.

Most stuff sold by Amazon EU doesn't seem to ship to Ireland. Seems counterintuitive?

From what I understand, the "Amazon EU" store is simply ordering stuff from Amazon DE through Amazon UK. So it's probably set up in a way so that anything that's bought from that store is automatically flagged for customs into the UK, which is why we instead have to order direct from Amazon DE.

Can you switch your amazon prime account to DE and get free shipping?

Ordered a Samsung Smart watch on German site yesterday. Was given 2 x shipping options - 1 for 7.xx eur and one for 8.xx euro. I picked the more expensive one.

It was shipped today and I received AN Post tracking details. Is this a sign of things to come?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,908 ✭✭✭zom

I was hoping for amazon.ie at some stage, but it seems like we can live with amazon.de / amazon.fr / amazon.es instead.

That's standard enough. DHL handle internal german post and can create An Post AWB straight away.

Sorry - I should have been clearer - I had "AN Post" tracking inside the Amazon account once it shipped. I'd expect if there was a DHL handover to An Post I'd see DHL on the AMazon tracking initially?

Was curious if they were processing shipments same as UK site.
