Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    FT 1-0

Bogle nearly scored an OG, but just went wide

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,953 ✭✭✭shmeee

The Wilson blank is one bonus at least

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,596 ✭✭✭✭siblers

Bogle with a moment of madness, would have been some og

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,685 ✭✭✭✭wonski

Jesus, that was close... Sheffield almost shot themselves in the foot.

First win and CS of the season.

Double Newcastle defense almost coming off.

Gutted. Why did I pick Wilson and Clark? Because it was the obvious thing to do. and just like all obvious things in FF they rarely work out. if ever.

At least Shaw starts... hoping for some assist magic.

3 from 2. Flying it so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,447 ✭✭✭Ginger n Lemon

Also, Ramsdale lad is woeful. Couldnt fix his contact lenses for like 10 mins or so. Why in the gods name Bruce started with 5 4 1 and only 2 actual attacking players as Fraser and Wilson is beyond me. Thought he ll give a rest to useless Joelinton? get in the bin Bruce

You didn't captain Wilson did you?

Phew decent result. 2 pointers all around me in my main league.

I am the only one in the top 10 on the league not to free hit and a mix of 5 different captains also!

Why did I have my head turned by McGoldrick :(

How was that the obvious thing to do? Whatever about Wilson but starting Clark away on a free hit when they have only 3 clean sheets all season.
Can see why you started him but not why it was obvious.

Something to do with Sheff UTD not having won a game in 17 games this season.

To other poster - I did not captain Wilson. Imagine me fuming if I did... all in all I am okay so far, Clark enabled Sterling. So assuming Sterling starts its not the end of the world but its just very upsetting how Bruce thought he was up against Barcelona..

My opponent in the cup used his FH, but put a Southampton, West Ham and Villa player in??

I wonder if you auto pick on free hit - does the game recognize the blank gameweek? : O

The game does not. Auto pick would not take blank week into account. I know because I tried :)

I have no idea what he was thinking because his first 11 are pretty template 3 City, 3 Arsenal, 3 Spurs and 2 United but then has three subs with no game.

Were you watching Mark Sutherns on FPL blackbox by any chance? He was singing McGoldricks praises!

Did he think it works the same as a wildcard?

Nothing has summed up a season more than having Basham today on FH.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,164 ✭✭✭✭Scorpion Sting

Wilson's blank makes it a disappointing start to the Free Hit. Only Bruno in this one so red arrows look a certainty for me tonight.

    Iwobi (Digne)

    Iwobi goal.

Starting Saiss not looking too clever right now

    Neves goal (Ait Nouri)

Nearly swapped him for Dier last minute n all

Bah picked Neves just to have a cheap 3rd sub on FH.
    No chance he plays.

Surely only picked because of his attacking return potential mainly?

Christ, Pickford just parried a shot out for a corner that was going about two yards wide.

Just as well he’s a goalkeeper, would be completely unemployable at anything else.

    Would love a Burnley goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,685 ✭✭✭✭wonski

    This should be red card.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,271 ✭✭✭Tandey

Brady could be sent off here.

    Shaw could be too lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,953 ✭✭✭shmeee

Wolves CS gone now too, hate this GW already and we only a few hours into it!

I'd actually be happy to be the lad earlier who ended up with the 2 x Sheffield CS's with his mental punt of 6 defensive options. :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,271 ✭✭✭Tandey

VAR doing a re run of the whole game here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,778 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

Cavani through all goal taken out of it- - could end up with Shaw red card

    All sorts going on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,685 ✭✭✭✭wonski

    It's getting ridiculous.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,271 ✭✭✭Tandey

Think Brady is odds on to be safe.

    Brady has been de-carded.
    Shaw yellow.

    Brady yellow removed

This is actual ridiculous - we've also being told VAR can't give yellow cards, and it's basically VAR telling the ref to go look at the screen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,685 ✭✭✭✭wonski

    Shaw booked instead.

    Interesting

That was my reason mainly, it's all we can hope for now with CS wipped.

I didn't think the ref could use VAR for free kicks though I'm confused

Like I tght he could only change his mind if he was sending Shaw off

esp since Maguire was doing his best to get the Ref to red card him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,442 ✭✭✭basillarkin

That's a red. Shaw lucky as. Didn't get the ball follows through on a studs up challenge. Bad tackle more than a mis timed one imo

Maguire goal - ruled out for a foul
