    Good deal with Irish Rail at the moment. Monday to Thursday, Dublin to any destination, except cross border for only €10 day return for adult €5 for kids...

    Its about time something like this came along... nice for a daytrip somewhere....

    Iarnród Éireann have launched a giveaway summer promotion today with adult day return tickets from Dublin to anywhere within the State on the InterCity network – a choice of 87 destinations – selling for only €10!

    And families save too with kids getting the same deal for only €5 return. The offer is available on all trains leaving Dublin before midday Monday to Thursday, and is sure to be a big hit with tourists, shoppers, daytrippers and families looking for great value days out during the summer holidays. The only exceptions are the 07.10 Heuston to Cork; 08.30 Heuston to Tralee/Cork; and cross-border services to Belfast.

    There’s also hot summer deals on sale from a range of stations in Leinster offering €8 off-peak day returns to the capital. Stations where the offer is available include: Dundalk, Drogheda, Laytown, Gorey, Arklow, Rathdrum, Wicklow, Portlaoise, Portarlington, Kildare, Newbridge and Sallins.

    Tickets can only be purchased on the day of travel.

    The offer will be available Mondays to Thursdays up to and including 26 August (excluding August Bank Holiday Monday).

    Well i know it works from dundalk to dublin, so maybe its the same for everywhere else?

    Nope. Its a joke. €30 return on Wednesday or €35 any other day during the week!!
