Hi all, i am looking for a bonnet for my rover 3500s v8 1973 if anyone could help, thanks bren.
Yes I can help, my neighbour has a 3500 V8 which he is scrapping for the engeine and box, would you be interested in the rest of the car? let me know, and I will ask him. He may well sell the bonnet on its own.

Sad day in my house: decision has been made to permanently 'retire' my 968. I've been made an offer for it, by a breaker's in the UK, so unless it's bought here, it's off to UK to be plundered at end of the month.

Which is an outright travesty for a fsh Porsche. But there you go: we are where we are, as they say.

So, even if you don't want a 'project' 968 to give some tlc to, there's a lot of stuff you could shoe-horn into your 944........or 924, if you're really dedicated !

    Someone, rescue this car !

That's a shame, although less so if it's an auto :-). Direct result of the penal car tax system here. How much?

Tip, unfortunately. The manual is too good, and I personally much prefer the Tip one.......but needs must and all that.

Sorry, but you're wrong. The Tip car is better than the manual. The tip has done 28k miles in my hands, the manual 6k. And I've had the Tip a year less. If the manual was as nice to drive, it'd be the other way around. Some cars are just better as autos.

Car has been advertised everywhere, forever. Well, it feels like forever anyway. DoneDeal, Adverts.ie , PCI, Octane, Carzone, Porsche sites, Pistonheads, 911 & Porsche World.....the just goes on....

Well I'm hardly wrong now - we merely have different opinions neither of us is wrong:)
Are you really getting that much from a breaker for the car - there must be money in Porsche parts

Well I have both, parked beside one another, so I have the best vantage point.....and I'd pick the Tip 9 times out if 10.
Both are good, one is great....none are bad :)

As for parts, well it's a specialist Porsche breaker, so I can only assume that he knows what he's doing, but obviously he's not paying as much as I'd like.

Not 100% sure yet but could need an engine for a Mercedes 280. It's the twin cam M110 as fitted to numerous Mercedes' of the 1970s-1980s up to about 1985.

Have to decide whether to rebuild existing or just do a swap. Will consider a complete car with good engine and drivetrain.

Looking for a good usable Mk II Cortina bonnet. Last part needed for a rebuild.

Even one with a good front edge, ie bonnet clip and release would do at a pinch.

the Holy Grail would be easier to find Im afraid.

You could try www.buysellcortina.co.uk but don't hold your breath. Expect to pay big money (several hundred) if you do find one.

Been there tried that and http://z8.invisionfree.com/EveryFord_Ireland and the 1600E club. I did find a new one in an auction up north. He wouldn't let me 'Buy it Now' the broad went belly up at the end of the auction, so I never did get a bid in it went for in excess of 500 sterling. Looks like I'll have to weld a few plates in the for the bonnet release and spot weld the braces in. I shall keep looking in the mean time. cheers
