A friend knowing I am interested in my family tree, asked how he could find out if his parents left a will. Not that long ago so maybe this isn't the right place to ask. Could be 1950's or 1960's. Any pointers would be appreciated for my friend.

They may well have left a will but if it was probated, then there won't be a public record of it. I'm not sure what the cut off point is for the National Archives to take charge of wills but I'd start by contacting the probate office.
