Hi all, Joseph Rath, b. 02/09/1885 was married to Lydia about 1903. They lived at 54, Fingal street, Dolphins Barn Area, Dublin in 1911. Is there any way to find Lydia's maiden name, dob, etc., and any further info on that side of the family. Thanks in advance, Dave

trial and error is the only way really the 1911 census should show you her age and where she came from, if you can find Joseph in the 1901 census it will tell you if he was working/living in the aera near where she was from the 1911 census should also tell you how long they were married.

Once you know that you can start searching on Familysearch. org, easiest way is to have two tabs open one searching for Jospeh and one using just the first name linda and then start working your way through till you find a few matches if you know Josephs fathers name you can then write to the GRO and ask that they just send you the marriage certs that have the correct fathers name.

    hope that helps
feel free to drop me a pm if you need anymore help, im a dab hand at using family search at this stage

both James and Lydia are born Dublin City, and married 8 years, so c1903. I'd say this is the marriage from the BMD Index:

    Name: Joseph Rath
    Registration district: Dublin South
    Event type: Marriage
Quarter and year: Oct - Dec 1903
    Volume: 2 / page : 581

    name: Lydia Jordan
    [same index references as Joseph]
