Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They said this evening or tomorrow you should hear back so you never know.

  • Registered Users Posts: 373 ✭✭markw7

Did anyone get a rejection email yet?

Done phase 1 on wed @13:00, still no word and they said they'd let us know by friday the latest

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,760 ✭✭✭Effects

I think if you haven't heard you are progressing to Phase 2 then it means you haven't passed Phase 1.
They said it might take a while to let everyone know who didn't pass. They didn't mention anything about Friday to our group.

  • Registered Users Posts: 373 ✭✭markw7

Yea was thinking that myself. Poor form not letting people know, don't really care about the feedback on the tests just a sorry not this time would do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,760 ✭✭✭Effects

Well they did say if you didn't hear anything that you can take that as your answer.
Maybe they are holding off in case some Phase 2 people don't make the assessments next week, or change their mind. Then they can go back to borderline Phase 1 people and bring them forward.

  • Registered Users Posts: 373 ✭✭markw7

Didn't say anything about not hearing back to us, good luck with phase 2.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6 Mdud55

Anyone here do phase 2 today? How did it go? I’ve got mine tomorrow. Any time frame given as to when ye will hear back from this phase?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,760 ✭✭✭Effects

Good luck with your Phase 2. Let us know how you got on.

  • Registered Users Posts: 64 ✭✭annor99

My husband did his today too. They weren't very clear as to when they would be letting people know. Possibly a week or two. Hope yours went ok mdud.

Yeah Im not sure how I got on, i don’t think I did to well on one part but others I thought I done alright. Only time will tell I guess. They didn’t say anything to us either about when we will hear anything back.

I don't think they sent out any rejection emails buddy, everyone has completed phase 2 now so I doubt you will hear anything

Maybe they are waiting to see if they hit their quota from the ones that have just done phase 2. Who knows? Might be worth emailing them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,760 ✭✭✭Effects

Phase 2 had 130 people or thereabouts, so probably hit their quotas.
I did really well in the VSE but made a mess of the SCAAT so I'm out.

I think I did well in all of the tests but I didn't get one of the questions done in the pre-interview form so we could be in the same boat.

No, they contacted people who did the tests at the start of the year but didn't get the earlier call for the next round.

Anybody hear anything back from phase 2 yet?

Fair play. Just after I wrote that I got the thanks but no thanks email.

I actually start with Dublin Bus in a few weeks so that's probably enough CIE for me anyhow :)

    Best of luck guys.

Have the email now. Not to be but already knew that.

I was told that IR re-advertised internally in the CIE group for train drivers. Haven't seen it myself but someone I trust confirmed that he saw it.

Perhaps they felt taking from other parts of CIE and already knowing the work record of the applicants was more beneficial than open process.

Bit of an insult to the many people still waiting if you ask me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15 Irish Rail Informer

Apparently a deal with the Unions.

They were allowed to advertise outside the company, once the also advertised internally as well.

    edit:
The internal candidates have to pass the same aptitude test as the external ones to be considered.

I emailed them yesterday to see if I was still in the running haveing missed the recent assessment phase. I emailed explaining I couldnt make the dates offered as I was out of the country. Really hope I am not out of the running over something like that. Sickened

Not too hopeful I will receive a reply.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,760 ✭✭✭Effects

Don't take this the wrong way, but it's doubtful you are in the running.
Why would you be? They held assessments for the positions, and people who could attend will fill those positions.
Just hope that they keep you on file, and may contact you again in the future.

Why wouldnt I be, I was invited for an assessment and I couldnt attend the available dates. I assume if there are more dates in future I will be reconsidered for assessment on those dates.

If there is any fair play in the hiring process there has to be flexibility for people in situations like that.

    Lol.
Plenty others to take your spot. They don't owe you anything. Don't expect any form of logic either.

Any normal and decent employers accommodate prospective candidates within reason but given the terrible job HR have done since they first advertised wouldn't surprise me if they move on without.

The sisters father in law works in IE, there's 19 in for interview in Cork this week and the next.

As crappy as it sounds I reckon you've missed the boat (genuinely hope I'm wrong). The recruitment process has been symbolic and I'd say that the fact that you weren't available when requested will probably work against you. What depot did you apply for?

I had applied for Limerick. Ya, from the vibes I am getting here I am probably out. Not the end of the world,. Congrats to all who have received job offers and all the best to those still in the running for positions.

From what I know about Cork, it will be the end of this week, early next week once all interviews have been done, 19 candidates in over a 2 week period.

They were aiming to have 10 done by Friday last week, assuming the other 9 this week.

I sat my interview last Thursday for Dublin, had the medical before that and I’m still waiting to hear back.

Reading that they got back to you so quickly I can’t help but get a sinking feeling in my stomach.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8 Sparky19

I wouldn't worry about that to be honest, maybe he didn't include his references in his CV in the first place and they just needed to get them off him, no one else has said anything just yet anyway.

Sat my interview in Waterford and was told to be patient in waiting for a reply as their HR department is all over the country at the moment doing all of the interviews, so I'd say the earliest any of us could hear back will be next week.

Yeah I know. I’m just flip flopping between thinking the interview went great and thinking it went ****e every 30 minutes or so.
