Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

From what I remember the Black Ops one was quite successful last time round so why not give this one another go. :)

Post your tips, best gun/attachment/proficiency combos, map lines of sight etc.

Shammy you've had it a few days, I'm looking at you. ;)

Shooting at teammates in hardcore mode is bold.

If you use that gun with that proficiency with that perk to get that killstreak, you'll be grand.

    Find that.

Smg : Ump silenced with kick

    Assault : Type 95

    Go with the support killstreak.

Use the escort airdrop, and leave any uav/cuav/similar pointstreaks, gota good 10 kills last night as enemies rushed to steal my sloppy seconds.

RPG to the ground right at the beginning is better (no idea if there is a rocket launcher and noob tube delay in MW3). Not that I have ever done this or anything >_>

This game is surely too easy for a "tips" thread.

Is there a tutorial on the basics on MW3 of how to move around etc?

Usually a simple 1 level walkthrough?

    Never played the previous version

    Just shoot people ;)
Are you talking campaign, spec ops or xp

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,739 ✭✭✭✭minidazzler

I advise you go into survival mode in Spec Ops on your own and get used to using the guns available. Other than that, watch videos on Youtube on how to play, where to move and opening routes.

TmarTn is one of the best for tips and tricks I think. This video is pretty useless to you, but sub to him and he'll have A LOT of information out over the next few weeks.

Also, look for ibashtv and other channels like that, they will have tips and tricks all the time.

Just to get the basics before I heard out to battle.

Looks so much easier with keyboard and mouse

Stick to the mercenary game type if playing on your own. Anything else bar TDM and Kill Confirmed only can be a bit much when starting out especially playing on your lonesome. With that said, I'd recommend adding people from here be it through the OPs in the PS3 or 360 About last night threads or the Sharing Gamer tag thread. I'd go with the former two personally, PC gamer tags are in the Sharing Gamer tag thread.

Keep to the sides of maps and try and take note of traffic patterns. This will come with time. I suggest watching yourself via the Vault feature in the main menu if you have the time. You'll pick up on your mistakes far quicker.

Try and stick with a couple of primary guns at the beginning. I suggest the M4 and Scar L from the Assault rifles. UMP from the SMG group.

Have a class with a launcher in it. People are incapable of doing well because they are unwilling to take down enemy air support, especially UAV's and are left wondering ah ****, why can't I do well/keep getting killed!?I'm a strong player statistically but if I can bother my arse taking out enemy air support, there is no excuses for anyone else not doing so. It's easy XP xp as well.

Run support package. Streaks are so easy to build tbh. They do not stack, so say if you get 2 kills and you die. Your next kill with get you a UAV still.l

Apparently disabling theatre mode will help alot for anyone that is getting some lag.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 370 ✭✭craze7

Best tip ever, throw down a dummy care package beside yourself in an open area then lie prone behind it and kill people who walk by, nobody even looks twice at them anymore and they cant be shot through like cars and concrete pillars in this crap game! :D

It does, at least when I'm playing alone, I might see later if it will help in ground war haha.

    For easy XP

Put on Hardline, play domination, use the specialist strike package.

Capture your home flag/get one kill and you've already got an extra perk.

If you get a 7 kill streak you automatically get all 15 perks for that life. A silenced weapon comes in handy too.

You unlock loads of challenges when your running all 15 perks so you'll be raking in the XP. I got 32,000 in one game using this set up.

if you new and low lvl at the game id reckon you should use the support killstreak rewards as it easier to get and helps the team out and then as you progress use the toher killstreak types

If you shoot down the middle chopper in a strafe run it will blow up the choppers directly beside it. Counts as 3 points on your point streak.

If you're calling an airdrop trap run to it and lay prone like your taking it and let them kill you. After this they will always try and take it after seeing you risk your life for it

    Then..........ring ring ring.....BOOM!! :D

If you get really iriitated from getting killed all the time by the same guy and naturally say...."I'd love to do kill that chap"....quickly remember that it is a Shooting Game your playing with that being the primary object and realise that you couldn't kill him the first 8 times you tried.

I've got owned quite a few times by people running both Akimbo machine pistols and handguns. I've not tried any akimbo weapons as of yet.

Is anyone running akimbo secondaries? Any tips, recommendations?

Great sound off the Deagle also.

Nice, must give them a go so. Akimbo MP5's with Steady Aim were a favourite of mine in MW2.
