Mostly dull and overcast with just a few brief sunny spells.

A lot of rain fell here near Tralee overnight, checked the manual gauge at 08.30, ( not raining at the time ) had 23mm.
Only 0.8mm since from mainly heavy mist/light rain this morning.

Front came through here less noticeably then other stations ( recording between 4C and 5C drop in an hr ) although had a 2C drop between 07.00 and 08.00 and wind veered at the same time from the SW to the N as pressure began to rise.

Definitely in a different airmass now( last wind direction NE ) with temp down to 3.8C ( 3.0C a short time ago ). Calm and fog forming.

Got down to 2.2C here last night near Tralee, temp has been rising all day to it's present temp of 13.4C.

Wind light from ESE at 8 kph, windy early in the day ( was working beside the mouth of the Shannon, very cold at first but the jackets came off around 13.00

)

Incredibly mild getting up to 17.4C ( low of 14.3C)

Mainly overcast with brief spells of sunshine ( when the lower stratus opened up could see Lenticular clouds higher up.

It's just 19c here right now - anybody know what the highest temp recorded on 31st Oct in Ireland is?

Somebody might know that, but an indication is that the absolute highest in the month of November is 20.0 C (on the Met-E website, states it was in Dublin at Rathfarnham Castle on 4th in 1946 ). For October it was 25.2 (in Kildare on 3rd, 1908). Would guess today's daily record high is close to 20 and close to being tied. Looking into the actual value for today.
