Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When did Ken Doherty start this darlin of Dublin nickname?

    Should've stuck with the crafty

That's a Dennis Taylor issued name if I recall?

So, a Ken and Jimmy final at 7. Looking forward to that actually.

Will be hoping Ken wins it tonight

I fancy Crafty, I think he's almost as good as a top 64 player :pac:

Can't see it priced up yet though, but I reckon Ken be favourite.

EDIT I See some books have it priced now.
Better prices available online but PP
have Jimmy 5/4 & Ken 4/7 (maybe shop prices different; they usually are)
Best prices Jimmy is 7/5 with a couple,
and Ken 4/6 with 2 from what I can see.

Frame 1 looks like it's going to 'Crafty' . 41 ahead , 35 left. Ken pots red, frame over.

Yea, IF I were a betting man I'd put my money on the darlin too.

Wasn't expecting the final to be best of 9 with it on the same day as the semi's, which was best of 7.

It was scheduled that way alright.

Always liked Ken's cadence around the table. Whether he's playing good or bad he just gets on with it.

Jimmy not at the races at all. 1 good pot the height of it. Ken looking good here to go 3 - 0 up.
Snookers required stage. Jim probably concede. And does - 'Crafty' up by 3 frames to Nil.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,477 ✭✭✭AllForIt

This could be over quicker than it takes Dennis to think up a corny quip.

On no, I'm at it now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,472 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

Well Jimmy avoids the whitewash anyway

Jimmy can play a bit, only in spells though... Struggling to get a decent break here.

    That was controversial..... :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,477 ✭✭✭AllForIt

Ken should have gone into the pack there, even with that one red available.

I don't fully understand the push shot rule. If the red wasn't touching the white and the ref didn't call touching ball, why does it have to be a foul if the closest red moves. So long as he doesn't strike the white twice.

Jimmy saw nothing wrong with it and he's not one to shy away from calling a foul on himself in the biggest of matches.

    Looking ominous now

I have to look back on that one again. It was declared touching ball so the touched red cannot move, otherwise that's a push.

But there the touching ball didn't seem to move, but an adjacent ball did move, which means he must have pushed the touching ball. If was a funny one for sure.

Didn't hear the touching ball call. Then it was a foul and Jimmy should have seen/called it. Well he shouldn't have played the shot really.

More drama at the Crucible. This is fun

    Ken totally bottled that.

Jim holds his verve to pot a tough pink and missable black, getting interesting.
Only 1 frame in it - will we see 2 more - tell ya what, I wouldn't bet against it :pac:

I'm not sure what the situation was to be honest. I'll rewind when it's over.

I thought it was all over for Jimmy but he's right back in this now.

It's been the same the last few nights as well... A bloody joke... Off now

Jimmy takes on a long pot and wobbles in the pocket. Didn't leave Ken much to go at.

Ken takes on a risky red, misses, leaves Jimmy in, and he's on a break now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,854 ✭✭✭zuutroy

    Any way to watch?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,477 ✭✭✭AllForIt

Jimmy looses position after a 20 odd break, and plays safe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,477 ✭✭✭AllForIt

Ken knocks in a terric' long red but out of position, and plays safe.

It's on Matchroom but that isn't free.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,477 ✭✭✭AllForIt

Ken gets lucky with a missed long red but lands in behind the yellow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,477 ✭✭✭AllForIt

Jimmy survives the snooker. Back to safety play now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,477 ✭✭✭AllForIt

Ken's safety goes wrong, leaving Jimmy a mid length red to get in. And he gets. it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,477 ✭✭✭AllForIt

Jimmy in the balls now, should rack up a few points here if he keeps in position.
