    Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, I might post it in the Travel forum too (or a Mod might move it?).

My wife is celebrating her 40th in two weeks, and she'd booked a hostel in Wicklow for one night for about 15 of us to stay over and basically just get together to celebrate her birthday. The hostel was perfect, cheap and cheerful and we'd have the place to ourselves.

Anyhow, they've had to cancel the booking tonight as the place won't be ready in time as there are some renovations going on.

Anyone got any suggestions for somewhere we could all go? It's on Saturday 8th, so we don't have a lot of time to arrange something.

    Thanks...

    J.

The lighthouse might be too small but it might be possible

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Glenmalure Lodge? (if you're into the outdoors - it also made a recent appearance in the film The Stag)

I know people who went on a Hen staying in Avon Rí where activities were organised for there and for Russborough House nearby. They had a good time.

Not a hope in hell of finding a place there on a Saturday during summer, they're booked up several weeks if not months in advance.

You could try the Kippure Estate ... http://www.kippure.com/

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into them, but most places seem to be booked. Not too surprising really at this time of the year...
