Cyrptosporidia

Just wondering what is the best disinfectant for it ?. Have a small bit in 1 old shed and I want to hit it before calving gets really busy for autumn.

You don't really wear that gas mask and biohazard suit do you?

Does it have to be bought from a vet?

I buy it from my vet. No I dont use a biohazard suit , i apply with knapsack have water proofs on me and a dust mask and gloves

Did you get good results with it? And how long before you put animals back in after spraying

I have put them back in the next day. I used to use a product called oocide-off the market now-, a 2 part product, got severe burns on my back from it over spilling out of knapsack when i didnt have waterproofs on, lesson learnt. I buy a 1 litre container in vets. Lasts a good while. Yes I am happy with it.

I kept calves this year in one of our cubicle sheds, well anyway one of the calves got cyrptosporidia and we kept him in the shed. we also keep incalf cows in this shed during the winter and I was just wondering would it spread to the cow's calves. The cows don't calve in this shed, we also powerwashed out the cubicle house.

If it was me I would disenfect before housing and then clean out again during calving season and disenfect again.Anytime I get a breakout its when there's a build up. During calving I clean out powerwash and disenfect regularly
