    This is one of a group of videos and photos that the Pentagon have verified as taken by military personnel. They have also stated that the objects are unidentified.

    The particular incident you linked above could be as simple as lens bokeh from night vision goggles as an aircraft passed overhead. There is a convincing argument for that theory here.

    If you watch the Joe Rogan experience with David Fravor on youtube he speaks about tracking an unidentified object from his F18 in 2004. That object, which is referred to as the tic tac, was subsequently caught on IR video by another F18 on the same day. The pentagon have also verified this footage is real and the object is not identified.

    There is a Pentagon report due out in June which may provide more detail on these (and other) incidents.

    Fravor describes what he saw with his own eyes (along with 3 other crew between the two F18s on the sortie) to be a large craft which was capable of moving in ways that should be impossible. He states that if it is tech from a foreign nation that it is a quantum leap from what exists today (bearing in mind it is now 17 years since his encounter) and as such would be a huge national security threat for the US.

    Could of course be US tech, though Fravor doubts that saying that in all the time since his encounter nothing has emerged publicly. But then the US would be keeping that kind of tech very secret as long as it was valuable.

    It is unlikely we'll have any real answers on this any time soon, maybe nobody has the answer. Interesting times though to have the US Government be reasonably open about the whole thing.
