Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wolves small squad and match schedule has caught up with them today

Doucoure makes it 2-0 to the home side who are the form side after Liverpool over this spell of games.

Thanks lads. Will see it on MOTD later.

No point. More chance of Keown winning world's sexiest man than Lineker saying it's a penalty against spurs.

Southampton pretty clearly outplaying Spurs here.

Still wouldn't be surprised to see Spurs nick a couple of goals.

But you can expect some pithy, witty soundbites, and a strong defence of Deli and Sir Harry's tenancy to fall over....

Sissoko really has no business in an upper PL midfield.

    fightingcock is in meltdown.

Wolves back in the game Netto has er netted.

Not sure what Spurs would have expected anything different. Everyone knows what kind of football Mourinho plays and that this current group of Tottenham players is woefully unsuited to that.

It'll either end with Mourinho agitating for funds that he's not going to get or he'll eventually get enough in sales and transfer money to try and turn this squad into a Chelsea B team.

Was Kane being kept onside there?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

    VAR checking............Kane going off.

    Offside 1-0 Kane disallowed.

Jose acting the gowl again, deflecting from his teams poor performance .... again.

    Hamstring Harry.

I'd have some sympathy for Kane tbh. Watched one of the plethora of games over the Xmas, and Kane played the full 90 minutes, although he was clearly out on his feet for the latter stages of that game. You'd have to question Jose and the sport science people for what looks like a fatigue type injury to Kane at the end of a busy period like this, better rotation required (although as we saw at Chelsea, Jose doesn't always take advice from the medical staff too well.)

Southampton sitting back too much now inviting Spurs on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,392 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Long should have scored there. Not even hitting the target from 4 yards.

It's not even. He's a sad tribute act who can't even get sent off anymore.

Jose in his pomp would have been sent to the stands, riled up the players and the crowd and made a late change that would see a defender go up front and head an equaliser.

That was a great goal from Choudhury

How long until Herrera, Matic and Fellaini are being linked to Spurs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,524 ✭✭✭✭retalivity

Why did ndombele go off after 25 mins, was he injured? Or has jose found his shaw

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,976 ✭✭✭doc_17

Jose’s time has passed. Long ball football isn’t what the top teams do these days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,905 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Jose is going to leave Spurs in tatters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

Looking forward to Jose's post-match scrum now. He'll drop 'cryptic' messages about players he can't trust, answer sarcastically when asked about transfers in and money available and insist that Ndombele is a player he loves.

    Another good win for Watford.

Strange VAR decision in they game, a yellow for a professional foul changed to a red in spite of it being a borderline decision, with another defender in the facinity. Certainly not clear and obvious, a bit of a departure on what we've seen already.

Great to see Danny Ings healthy and scoring goals again.

I honestly don't know why anyone would want the hassle of Mourinho at this stage.

Maybe it'll be seen as worth it if he wins the FA cup or something, but there's no long term plan, they'll be in a worse place when he leaves than when he came and he'll be a pain in the hole to everyone for the last half of his tenure.

Honestly think it's all down to Daniel Levy's ego. He wants to prove that he's done such a good job in transforming Spurs into an elite team that he can attract a manager of Mourinho's quality.

Trouble is, he's about ten years too late.

Var gets a good offside call!

I spotted that offside on the first replay.
Was surprised it wasnt picked up on by either on NBC.

Mental VAR stuff going on. Cant even explain it.

Ref blew for offside. Player was on. Then checking to see if foul, but whistle was gone for offside?

    What match?

Edit. Forgot you're an Everton fan so I presume it's that one. Will watch at half time hopefully they show it

And then after deciding it wasn't a foul, they go back and give Everton a freekick for the offside that VAR proved was onside.

For the first time I think I now believe Bournemouth are more likely to be relegated than not.

They switch off every season for spells but this time it looks pretty terminal as they can hardly buy a goal while shipping a large number even by Howe's standard.

It's as if they are actually having a competition between the officials as to which of them can make the worst decisions.

Sorry it's official as one of the guys only makes the call and the others have no input despite sitting watching screens beside them.

Had a good few injuries to the back four.

Probably be subbed at HT so. He's a very binary player.

I know it's new years day, and everyone is hungover, but the crowd at the city game are comatose..... Zzzzzzz
