Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

North or south side? This is a difficult one

Totally off topic but I hate the way the heritage of our city is being destroyed by cement render!! Should be made illegal to plaster over red brick, even if it isnt the nicest thing.

Im thinking somewhere around St. Marys Park or Thomondgate?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,747 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

St Mary's park and Nicholas street are the best guesses so far.

  • Moderators Posts: 3,554 ✭✭✭Wise Old Elf

Bishop St or St. Francis place then?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,630 ✭✭✭mrsoundie

    Naughton's Place

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,747 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

None of those. II'll try to think of a clue tomorrow but it'll probably give it away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,376 ✭✭✭✭phog

    Multiple answers

    Clontarf Place

    St Joseph's St

    WolfeTone St

Or any if the streets off St Joseph's St or connecting to Wolfe Tone St

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,747 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

    Nowhere near those places.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,576 ✭✭✭bennyl10

No. It's near a church alright and the house is about twenty yards from a pub.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,435 ✭✭✭Birdie086

The abbey? I think the area is called. Near st Mary's church and there us a pub on the corner, brain has wine freeze!

Yep it's Keyes Row as far as Google maps would say. The red brick house at the end gave the Kings Island location away for me.

I was going to say King's Island too, something about that brick! I had one lined up but I think it wouldnt last an hour with BB around!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,747 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

Well ye have the right place, those houses do not have the address Keyes Row though. Just off Harry's mall and across the road from Cowheys pub

    Fire away someone else

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,015 ✭✭✭✭Mc Love

    This is probably easy enough

That's in at Southvile, Gurteen I think. The Quaker house?
If I'm right, someone else might throw up a PIC, hitting the road shortly so only on phone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,152 ✭✭✭✭Berty

    South Circular Road?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,490 ✭✭✭stefanovich

So annoying, this is extremely familiar. It's Shelbourne road or north circular road or argh let me find it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,747 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

I'm not saying either of those guesses are right or wrong but they'll need to be more specific.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,246 ✭✭✭mgbgt1978

    Looks like Summerville Ave.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,747 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

Summerville Ave it is, well done.
Will you throw one up and keep this going?

Sorry Stefanovich, I've been doing quite well on this thread but I have that feeling all the time when I look at the nationwide guess the location thread.

That's really creepy. It seems extremely familiar but I'd rarely be up that way. I swear the grey house looks very like another in my area.

This game has made me realise that I know nothing about the north side. I'm only recognising places on the south of the city

It is the road that leads to Laurel Hill from Henry Street or SCR, that's the Redemptorists wall on the left.
    Sticking to your southside theme:)
