I watched this (Google Video) BBC documentary last night and thought it was brilliant.

Blurb:

Inspired by the actual events that have intrigued and baffled historians for more than 50 years, Copenhagen revolves around a 1941 meeting between two brilliant physicists, Niels Bohr of Denmark and Germany's Werner Heisenberg; long-time friends whose work together had opened the way to the atomic bomb, but who were now on opposite sides of World War II. Heisenberg made a covert trip to see Bohr and his wife Margrethe in Copenhagen, but the meeting ended in disaster. Copenhagen explores Heisenberg's visit to Denmark and what happened during the pivotal meeting that was to become a defining moment of the nuclear age.

This might be better suited to the economics forum, but someone over here might find it interesting too.

Milton Friedmans Free to Choose documentary series

the 1980's version should be watched first, as the 90's version are revisions or updates of the material already covered. Absolutely fantastic documentaries.

Here's an interesting Ted Talk advocating the aquatic ape hypothesis. (i.e. That humans evolved in an aquatic environment).

Sort of a depressing demonstration of how generic and samey modern music is. Cool all the same though.

The first man made object to break the sound barrier was not a firearm but the humble bullwhip, some thousand years ago.

The Primacy of Consciousness is an absolutely fascinating talk by Peter Russell. It explores the phenomenon of consciousness, but not only that, he explains certain quantum physical concepts in a brilliant way, and relates them to consciousness. It's brilliant.

This was posted over in cool vids/pics/links today by Wolfric (here) but I thought I'd send it over here too cause it's savage.

Click on that link on the page. Can't link directly to it cause it's got a curse in the url which the swear filter here changes to stars.
