The best punk band ever !

The Clash are one of my all time favorite bands. I'm not a big fan of the pistols but there is no denying the influence they had. Stiff little fingers brilliant too, only heard them for the first time a week ago when I stumbled on suspect device on youtube, as good as any song I have ever heard.

When it comes to clash songs

whilst i like some undertones songs it was crap like theirs that spawned the whole pop punk genre. punk will never recover from that rubbish. nuke 'em all, cleanse the place, move on

dks are my favourite band

if i'm looking for karaoke then i'm more inclined to listen to filaments or the like. would listen to upstarts or sham 69 or rejects and definitely not exploited ****

You like swearing a lot ...very punk off you... how can you not care then contradict yourself by saying what your number 1 band is.. yeah the ruts were a great band but didnt touch The Clash's greatness imo.

All this arguing is pointless... Best punk band ever is SLF. They might not be your favourite, but they are by far the best & they still put on a savage gig.

the clash were just a load of rubbish after thefirst album and two songs off the second. and whit e man in hammersmith palais goes as a great

slf first album was punk, after that it was pop, spawned a whole genre of rubbish

the ruts - were class. pity they burned out so early. they would have stuck the pace

Ah, here. Now, I'm a big fan of their earlier stuff, but I wouldn't put em at the top of the heap and DEFINITELY wouldn't choose this ****e to showcase their quality tunes...

Although in all seriousness, I do think their first two albums with Al Barr were better than Do Or Die, and I say that as a huge Mike McColgan fan. But that's for a different thread.

I'd say The Ramones are probably the best punk band. They did basically 'invent' punk

Although my Favourite would be (and yes I know there will be haters of this comment) - Green Day. They stopped doing punk music around mid 90's but they're still awesome.

Minutemen, I'm not sure what "punk" really is... three friends who could play well but had tact and knew when to keep it short and simple, singed to an indie, traveled light and made some of the best records I own.
