Installation of new shower tray

    About to install a new large slate shower tray. The floor is 18mm marine plywood.
    The Instructions state to lay it on a bed of sand/cement.
    There are differering opinions about sand/cement, some say it eventually comes away.
    One person has suggested a bed of flexible floor tile adhesive.
    Another suggested a thin layer of silcone.
    And another suggests to just let it sit on the ply!

    Looking for opinions, thanks.

    Do what it says on the tin. Sand and cement mix. The tray isn’t suppose to stick to it. The purpose of it is to support the entire base and level the tray. The weight of the tray will hold it all in place.
