Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, While researching my family tree I have noticed that on all the marriage certificates I have, the two witnesses are usually one male and one female. Were these known then as the Best Man and Brides Maid (or Matron of Honour) as they are today? icon5.gif

In theory, yes but they may not have used those exact terms...but someone always had to stand for each side. I have often seen 2 men though - perhaps brothers of both parties.
