Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yes you can get it with Sky because I got a text offering me the deal on Sky. If you were with Eir it wouldn’t apply as you’d get it for free

Is there any way to get this if you’re a virgin customer?

No no chance but if u can get a cheap sky box with a card it will work

    Great deal to be fair.
I signed up in May to a 2 month half price contract so just checking with them if I cancel next week can I resign up with this offer.
If they wont let me I might just pick a different viewing card and swap them in the house. Does anyone know if that's possible?

good offer for 3 months but works out dearer for the year, still serious value
compared to sky who don't even offer hd with their higher sub

They are generally no problem. You call them, say you want to quit, they offer you €16.99 or so instead of €27/month to stay. You accept or just cancel.

That's true. Although if like me, you plan to cancel for July and August next year, it works out cheaper on the monthly rate.

Does anyone know what they are like if you cancel after the 3 months...will they haggle for another deal?

They will haggle but usually drop to about €20 per month

ah fair enough, paid 225 last year myself and it's up next month.

cancelled sky on monday and talk about haggling from their side
told them I would never pay for hd again (reduced it from 17.50 to 10) when bt were giving it for no extra
their argument was that bt was only 720p v their 1080p
dont care what it is as long as it isn't sd esp for sport

That not even true in regard to the resolution of the relative broadcasts. Such liars!

Just in case people arent aware, if you switch to Eir broadband you get eirsports for free. I recently switched for €35 a month on a 12 month contract. That deal seems to be finished but there are other offers available. Have had the BB in for a week or so now and its tip top.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 785 ✭✭✭Berberis

Could you get this even if your using a UK card

Been wondering about this. How do you get Eir sports if you don't have a TV box? Or does the router work as one? Cheers

Interesting. I paid €199 last year (mulit-room) and cancelled a few weeks ago. Sub is not due to fall till late August however. They offered €225 but I said no thanks. Might be tempted with €199 if they ring closer to the date in August. Saying that, there is little on over the summer anyway.

Cancelling was a doddle and I always find them ok to deal with on the phone.

Don't they usually do a Black Monday yearly sub offer later in November?

They did a black Friday offer two years ago not last year. Last year I emailed asking was it on offer and they said no.

Is there a limit to how many extra boxes can be added for €2.99?

They definitely did a Black Friday offer last year because I signed up with them - €149/ 12 months.

Handy offer. I'm probably switching back to Eir BB once my contract with Sky ends (provided I can get a good deal), so this will cover between now and then. For €3 you can't go wrong, can you?

Just set a reminder on your phone to cancel one month before the three months expire.

if you have sky, you can receive it on that.

Otherwise, you can access the channels on a computer or through their App. (there's a limit on the number of simultaneous devices you can have and I think there's still restrictions on casting video from phone apps)

If you sign up to this you can cast. It's if you get the mobile only version that you can't...

I see their €225.00 Annual sub is now gone up to €245.00. So that's a No from me:mad:.

Wont be renewing either, especially since they've lost the UFC to eleven sports. You'd think the price would be going down with them losing Italian football, UFC etc

the ufc is the only reason I have bt so it'll be gone here also

funny things is sky sports tend to put up their sub a euro or two most years yet they have lost la liga, the champions league, some of the golf and probably a lot more I'm forgetting and expect us to pay 17.50 for the privilege of having hd :pac:

No, I meant there's a version you can get if you're an eir mobile customer. That doesn't cast, and you can only use app..
