Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How would both teams play counter Attacking football??? Love to see that type of game.

One team attacks the other team counters, the first team then counters that counter ad infinitum

This just sums up how stupid some people's opinions of Ronaldo is. How do you know what he's like in the dressing room? Brazilian Ronaldo was a brilliant player but so too is Cristiano, and his consistant excellence over the past number of years puts him higher in my opinion. Everyone has their own preference, but your petty, irrational dislike of a fantastic player is clear here.

I was trying to think how to word it as soon as I seen that comment. Absolutely clear that no matter what C.Ronaldo does some people will always try and make little digs.

Back to the game. Bale on around 60 minutes? He could get a bit of joy here for sure

But that would mean both defences would have to push up when they were on the counter attack... Sounds exhausting, but maybe youre right and it could happen.

But there would be no passing, except to pass forward, to players making runs in behind the defence(that have just pushed up)...

It would be quite a game. Let me know when two counter attacking teams are playing eachother. Are Atletico and Chelsea both counter attacking teams????? Maybe??? Sometimes????

RTE showing highlights of Atletico V Chelsea later.

"Kick off - Shot on target - Shot off target - Final whistle"

Haha no, possession is control. That's the mindset that has made Guardiola, arguably, the best coach in the world. It's 1-0 now, lets see what the score is after 90 minutes, Madrid will tire, this Bayern possession is relentless and Madrid will wilt.

The only thing that matters is the score . Didn't Bayern absolutely thump your beloved Barcelona last year . Tika taka is all well and good but most teams with decent players know how to rip apart the possession based game .

Thanks for your opinion. FYI: I don't dislike Cristiano. He's a terrific player. The original is just better.

Hope you don't get a card for calling my opinion stupid, but the way this forum is going you might..

Pepe: The most heroic man in world football today. How he manages to recover from these life changing injuries I'll never know.

Looking forward to the day pepe really breaks his leg and even his own team mates and physio will be ignoring him, assuming he's just being pepe.

Its ok folks, no damage done to Pepe!

As I say, nothing wrong with having the opinion the Brazilian Ronaldo is better, but I certainly got a vibe of dislike from that comment.

    Anyway, back to the match.

I wish Bayern would have a shot or two instead of dawdling and losing possession.

Ancelotti playing to his sides strengths here, a great manager, never forget the absolute run around his Milan team gave United a few years ago. It was one of the first times I'd heard "midfield diamond" mentioned and they tore United apart... to me it was a more absolute mauling than those received in the finals against Barcelona.

I understand that Pep has earned the hype that is attached to him and I also realise that his Bayern are a work in progress... but Heyncke's side were far more impressive.

Sorry but no. SOME teams can do it. Not most.

Munich are in the semi finals of the champs league, did you forget that???
They are playing one of the best teams in europe away from home.

    Very sensationalist statements tonight.
Next of all... "Are Bayern and Pep done?"

Wishing he breaks his leg, makes yourself worse than him IMO

    Thats a disgusting comment

Why not just roll off the pitch and get treatment? Embarrassing.

Yeh Spainsh Teams (Madrid in particular) have never dived, feigned injury etc... before Jose went there

If you look at Ramos. Prime example.

He was different (bit of an ar$ehole) under Jose, he did so many silly things. But not for spain, or before Jose came to Madrid, and this season, he seems back to himself.

Real Madrid have been very solid at the back. Bayern becoming too predictable. They've dealt with Bayern's diagonal balls very well.

Good decision to bring on Gotze, it's not been Ribery's best night.

Should've done it sooner. Ribery's contributed very little.

Think I prefer him bombing down the wing and whipping in crosses.

Guardiola going for the away goal now, less control but more thrust.

Very good player but very overrated IMO, How he was nominated ahead of Robben for World Player of the Year il never know

You'd have expected Madrid to drop deeper and their legs to go but they've actually come into it more, Pep's plan has not worked at all.

Not sure if it was mentioned yet, but Ronnie Whelan is beyond panful to listen to. He is so depressing that he would be more at home reading the death notices
