Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Disablement Benefit

Hi all, my partner just got his disablement approved today. He can choose either a lump sum or a life pension. The thing is that he wasn’t seen by a social welfare designated doctor before the award was made (I assume this is due to the pandemic).

His condition is actually worst then we initially thought and there is a strong possibility that he would have to undergo 3 operations. We are thinking of appealing the decision.

Have we anything to loose by appealing ? Is it possible that the lump sum/ life pension can actually be reduced ?

I do not understand. Why do you want to appeal- if you have won?

Because we were expecting a higher amount
