By a long distance the best episode of the series. Could not breath watching the stage task.

The cocktail task was one of the best tasks ever. Very impressed by Mawaan too, very clever in those tasks

    Daisy is nuts. She's brilliant

Great episode. Mawann is def the star of the series so far. Not getting this Daisy love-in, bar choking laughing all the time she doesn't contribute that much. I actually found her really rude in the stage task, it may have been funny if she actually wasn't so for real angry, just went over the top.

Johnny is close behind Mawann with Katherine next and unfortunately Richard bringing up the rear.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 291 ✭✭Morathi

Yeah, she wouldn't be my favourite, not my type of humour I guess, but happy that people seem to be enjoying her. I though she was hilarious in the cocktail one, but so was everyone else.

It was genuinely a little awkward with Richard on the stage. I agree, felt she was actually angry with him (when she drew a flipping cat for a hippo). Might just have been how it was edited though.

So far, Vegas and Mawan are top tier for me, Katherine and Daisy next, with poor old Richard at the bottom. He's just not my type of humour.

I think Daisy’s ‘rage’ is for the camera. They’re all performers. No one takes offence

Enjoyable series so far for me

    Very funny episode.
I thought the water challenge was excellent Mawaan really thinking outside the box on the tasks.
I like them all bar Richard Herring...he does absolutely nothing original or funny to me

It's a different version, it's edited for daytime showing and kids.

Patchy episode again last night I thought.

In other news, Christmas Special on the way: https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/reality-tv/a34724594/taskmaster-christmas-special-lineup-channel-4/

    Lineup TBA.

Was hoping someone would point out that in Katherine's marble run the marble technically stopped each time it changed direction. :pac:

Christ the last task must've been horrific in real time. :pac:

I think Greg's description of Daisy and Richard as an old married couple is become more and more accurate :D

I liked this weeks episode, the in studio one was really good.

    Richard pointless as usual.

    There'll be a one-off comedian-free special for new years;

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,599 ✭✭✭✭siblers

Not a great line up but could be worse. As its only one episode, the line up isn't that overly important

Other than Shirley Ballas, it's fine!

Only familiar with Hannah and Guru-Murthy, the latter for only because of that "interview" with Tarantino.

    Still, could be fun!

An unexpected Greg Davies cameo on Taskmaster NZ this week (Season 1, Episode 7), a show which has really come in to its own (it does take a couple of episodes for everyone to relax), and I look forward to it every week as much as the UK version, so definitely still recommend it for those who can't get enough Taskmaster.

Is it being shown here anywhere? Or are other methods required?

Don't think it has been shown this side of the pond yet. I regularly fly over to New Zealand myself anyway, so have been able to watch it from the official source. I reckon if you're used to sailing the seven seas though, you may stumble upon it in one of your usual spots... ;)

This acting thing is the worst task that's ever been on the show.

Totally agree. It's a sh*t task made worse by the fact that it's being drawn out for so long.

Katherine inadvertently redeemed it somewhat by just not learning her lines, and Greg's comments about Richard at the end helped, but f*ck it was a painful watch.

My mother phoned me during the first task so I missed most of that one. If only she'd waited another 10 minutes...

Even the final task was crap. That will definitely go down as the worst episode ever.

I loved the mini drama, Herring is definitely going to be nominated for a BAFTA

The monologue task was good in theory but didn't really work at all.

Richard was impressive but didn't make for great television

Yeah. Easily the worst episode in any series

Pretty poor episode alright. They can use the tasks in whatever show they want, so I don't know why they don't spread some of the duff tasks out among the whole series instead of lumping them all in together.

This season has had a lot of fairly bad tasks. The ones they didn't pick must be very bad

At best, they should have done it only with Richard, as one of those "Here's a task we only got one of the contestants to do".

They haven't done any of those solo tasks this season. Would have worked very well as an individual task for Richard alright.

Not for me...at least a couple of worse episodes in series 6 and 8.
The acting task wasn't great, and far too long it was a good idea though.
Katherine was fun she couldn't be bothered and in fairness to Richard Herring he did amazingly to remember his lines.
    I enjoyed the last task.

I only really noticed that this week from some of the side angles,

I hope they at least offered her a slightly better chair. Or a throne.

To be fair, the revelation at the end of the first task and the "moment of silence" bit was very funny.

Shame about that dreadful acting task..

How much of this series was recorded before restrictions? I don't want to make excuses but I wonder how much the group tasks have been affected. Even some of the individual tasks might have been done by a few contestants but then scrapped if re-creating them was difficult.
Really poor season in terms of tasks IMO.

Richard and Daisy's group tasks were before restrictions. The other teams were when restrictions were in place.

For what it's worth - Taskmaster NZ has definitely come into its own in the last few episodes IMO. Some fantastic tasks in there for one.

Also just learned that Paul Williams, aka "NZ's Little Alex Horne", is a very talented musician as well as well as comedian.

(spot 1 UK contestant, and 1 NZ contestant in the video)

The tasks have been class, but the banter between the contestants, Jeremy, and Paul in studio has also been great and shows how poor this season of Taskmaster UK has been in contrast.

I didn't really warm to her style of humour in the early episodes, but Angella has quickly become my favourite in recent weeks. The chemistry and awkwardness between herself and Paul is fantastic. :D

Oh wow, didn't realise he was a proper proper musician, and not just a musical comedian. That's quite a catchy song, I like it.

Where are you guys watching Taskmaster NZ. Is it on any of the streaming services, or does one need to have a word with the cousin in New Zealand?

Yeah, having cousins in New Zealand is very helpful in these matters...

I think it was funny, it was just way too long for what it was. Would have been better showing a highlight video and fitting another task in where the other two videos were.
