Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Applying as a mature student

    Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows much about applying to the regular medicine courses as a mature student? Is this possible and a cheaper option than GEM? Although I have a decent GAMSAT score and much prefer the idea of GEM, I am coming to the deflating realisation that if I were lucky enough to get a place, it's just too expensive for me. How is the mature entry route in comparison? Thanks!

Hey, I attended the RCSI open day this year and mature entry medicine is more expensive there - it's just under €17K per year (can't remember the exact figure) and you do HPAT + interview. You also need to pay for 5 years so you're talking an extra €20K approx overall. I'm not sure about the other colleges though!
