Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just to get in some forewarning, Just like Marks & Spencers, before halloween has even passed, it's time to pimp christmas. All the details of the beer will be available in this thread in due course. No doubt the banners will be needed about a month in advance, plenty of time to get really good designs done. Go for it :) .

Ok so this was my first attempt at doing anything like this and well it's nearly Christmas so I thought why not.

Anyway it's not in the dimensons for the banner up there, it doesn't look as good but I'd thought I'd post it anyway.

It's nice and simple.

Not a bad start, you've a base to work off now. Try slowing it a bit, maybe a little detail, and bring the size in under the constraints we have to work with and it'll work grand.

Heh, just thought about animating it there, came up with something quite appropriate :-)
Might take while to load though, it's a huge file (well, 90Kb) ...and give it a sec for the animation to kick in.

Too big a file though.

Lol, exactly what I had come up with (in fact it was a longer banner, with the pun on the whole "Wake up Neo..." thing. )

I gave up though when I couldn't find a decent free graphic editor and ani-gif maker-thingie. Now I've forgotten what I was gonna put in the banner

Thing is, I'd have to resize all the text or something, and it wouldn't all fit on one line. For a gif, that means going through every frame etc, which is a lot of work.

jasc do paint shop pro 8 as a 60 day free trial and microsoft have a nice simple gif animator here

tbh i couldn't be asrsed going messin around with it anymore, the only ones there id consider using are the simpsons one and the family guy one, i think the rest of em are kinda crap, and im only after noticing a spelling mistake in the dilbert one:o
