David Bowie would be the big one. I had to check if Neil Diamond was still alive. Turns out he is alive and still touring.

He's some man for one man, I was at one of his concerts in Dublin where I'd nearly swear that the tickets were paid for in punts and on the way back home we were delighted we had seen him as we thought there probably wasn't much more left in him.

He had a pair of legs like two sewing needles but he was a fine chanter in fairness.

"Very soon we are going to Mars. You wouldn't have been going to Mars if my opponent won, that I can tell you. You wouldn't even be thinking about it."

Noone, I would have loved to see Chester Bennington live, I only really became a Linkin Park fan after he died, though his death made me realise that i shouldn't waste any opportunities in seeing musicians, for example I am seeing Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park this sunday and am also seeing Slipknot for the first time at Download Festival.

He played the Carlton Cinema in Dublin in the seventies, back when gigs there were fairly commonplace. He played the National Stadium, the Olympia and the Cork Opera House a few times in the late eighties/early nineties, and played the Point with the Highwaymen in (I think) 1992. So "yes" is the answer. :)

2024 Gigs and Events: David Suchet, Depeche Mode, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, The Smile, Pixies, Liam Gallagher John Squire/Jake Bugg, Kacey Musgraves (x2), Olivia Rodrigo, Mitski, Muireann Bradley, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Eric Clapton, Girls Aloud, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, The Smashing Pumpkins/Weezer, P!nk, Pearl Jam/Richard Ashcroft, Taylor Swift/Paramore, Suede/Manic Street Preachers, Muireann Bradley, AC/DC, Deacon Blue/Altered Images, The The, blink-182, Coldplay, Gilbert O'Sullivan, Nick Lowe, David Gilmour, Public Service Broadcasting, Crash Test Dummies, Cassandra Jenkins.

2025 Gigs and Events: Billie Eilish (x2)

The place was called the Crystal Ballroom back then. It was in 1963.
