Have any of you folks been down this end of the airfield? Is the viewing good down there? Is there somewhere to pull over?

    Thanks,

Up a little theres an emergency gate but an area beside where it could ideally fit several cars, have spotted there several times when 06 is in use. Theres a stone wall where you can stand and get a good view of the aircraft.

In my younger days we used to camp there, it was ok, but if traffic landed on 24, you might not hear or see it. The rwy 24 end was much better.

I wouldn't recommend that drive if you don't know the area. It brings you down right to the estuary on Irelands narrowest road, it will 100% damage the paint on your car and aswell as that, there are some potholes that I'd swear have swallowed some locals. There is room for 1/2 cars at the most at the gate(which you have to hop over) but luckily, not many people know about it.

Fantastic views if you do make it there however, especially if planes are coming in to land over the estuary rather than over Limerick etc. It would rival St Maarten :)

Apart from the fact they both fly, there are no similarities. Try google for a picture of either

And this is what a B767 looks like:

Sorry about that, reading my last post, it seemed a little snotty and condescending. I didn't mean it to sound like that.
