Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Apartment Rent Cost Dublin City

    I'm moving to Dublin. I will be working city centre. Saw a 1 bed in Parkgate Place, Conygham Road for 875 a month. Really like it. Is this the going rate for a half decent place with parking in Dublin City Centre? I've seen some apartments for 750-800 but they were poor quality. Am I made to be considering to pay this much?

    That is high, though a secure parking space does go for a good bit. What square footage? what amentities as part of the apartment block?

    Its a good location. Heuston station, Luas and multiple bus routes practically on your doorstep. Phoenix Park, pubs, shops and the Criminal Courts (good and bad :)) across the road.

    Location is excellent and the complex itself is secure and well run. I think its maybe worth the €100 or so more. I have looked at some places, admittedly cheaper at 750-800 a month, but in terms of location and quality would not be at the same level. I suppose you get what you pay for!

    You could always put a slightly lower offer in, say €825. They might say no and you could go up to €850 or €875 if you think it's worth it. Always worth trying!

    I was there a couple of days after the floods and there was no flooding which is obviously a big plus!

    The banks aren't lending to a whole lot of people. Certainly not for 1-beds.

    Daft.ie has 9 2-bed properties in Dublin 7 and 18 in Dublin 8 for under €125,000 (4 and 8 respectively under €100,000) asking price. Not a great choice.
