I've got a site registered with netsol/network solutions .com.
Recently I decided to have it hosted on enom, their deals seems good etc...

Managed to follow the enom instructions and the site is now working, however
I cannot for the life of me get the email working. The instructions provided on enom do not match the Advanced DNS settings on netsol.

I need to configue on netsol the pop and webmail dns settings but am having zero joy.

just wondering if anyone here has been there with this combination of registar and host ?

If anyone wants I can provide the relevant settings that they mention

    thanks for any help

Why don't you just use your host's DNS?

netsol charge extra for email hosting as such. enom, well its already paid for.
neither are giving great support just pointing to existing documentation.

    enom say:

Use these settings to modify your domain name with another registrar or DNS host.

Domain Name Host Name Record Type Address
    test.com email CNAME mail-10.name-services.com
    @ MX (10) email.test.com
    smtp CNAME email.test.com
    pop CNAME email.test.com
    webmail CNAME webmail.name-services.com

I'm not certain what to do with this information on netsol. I've tried various settings etc and nothing seems to work in relation to email.

On netsol, this is the information in the Advanced DNS settings:

    IP ADDRESS: A RECORDS
    Host Numeric IP
    www 64.74.223.24
    @ (None) 64.74.223.24
    * (All Others) 64.74.223.24

    ADD/EDIT

    MAIL SERVERS: MX RECORDS
Note: Mail Servers are listed in rank order

    email.test.com.(10)
    mail-10.name-services.com.(20)
    webmail.name-services.com.(30)

    ADD/EDIT

    HOST ALIASES: CNAME RECORDS

    No CNAME Records.
    ADD/EDIT

any ideas, thanks for the time btw.
    cheers

    The mail records are wrong.
Enom is using CNAMEs for the extra records, but you've setup MX

Strange one, I can send email from the email address but not receive any email.
Would the @ MX record be the key ? When I try to add this to netsol.com in the dns config, it doesn't accept it as @ is not an allowed character.

    Any idea ?
    cheers
