So, if the odds are 2/1 for Exeter (+10), what does this mean?

If is said, 2/1 for Exeter (-10), what does this mean?

    Thanks in advance!

The +10 or -10 is called the spread

In the first example Exeter are a 10 point underdog.
That means that if they lose by less than 10 points you win your 2/1 bet.

In the second example Exeter are a 10 point favorite.
That means that they have to win by more than 10 points for you to win your 2/1 bet

So you are not betting on the final score as such, it's more like you are betting on the final score and either adding or subtracting 10 from Exeter's score.

Spreads are popular in US sports
