Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I bought a tractor in the north about 3 years ago and never registered it as its not on the road a lot. I did however insure it through the UK plates this summer.

I now want to sell it. I have an invoice from the UK garage. How do I register it now? Or if someone buys it from me how would they register it?

I know you have to bring it to the NCT center to register it, so maybe drop in the nearest one to you and ask one of the lads there what you need and take it from there.

You will have to talk to revenue as well

I would say to NCT that I've just bought a tractor privately from the North, and take it from there.

They'll look for a receipt and ownership form (whatever that's called?).
I have a friend who recently registered a uk import that wasn't taxed here for a few years. He went in with the ownership form and the nct center said it was a photocopy. Then he had trouble getting the real thing and then there was a run around between different staff and one not knowing what the other was doing or what paperwork the other had seen.

His impression was they were being deliberately belligerent.

I that could be the case, the only ones I have any experience with are the lads in Kells and they are ok any dealings I have had with them...

Give them a ring on 014135975, make a booking (they are all up the wall at the moment with Brexit looming) and they'll tell you what to do/bring.
It's only €200 so as long as you have the paperwork requested in your booking confirmation email you should be fine.
Lads have been known to write their own sales receipt......;)

it may be worth asking in the classic car forum here - https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=514

or the Haulage and Heavy machinery forum here - https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1068

Dont tell the revenue or VRT that it has been in the country for 3 years. I would imagine that there would be fines and interest payable dating back to the day it was imported. If it was a private car that would certainly be the case.
