Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As in a 4 inch round vent in a wall?

    Yes, that's it.

Quick fix would be removed the inner cover and stuff the hole with Rockwool or similar insulation. Or I would cover with tape or similar both sides of the hole and fill with expanding foam, remove the tape and put the covers back on. (EXPANDING FOAM IS MESSY STUFF BE CAREFUL IF USING INDOORS )

You had a new vent put in? Very interesting.

I'd recommend leaving the original vent intact. Ventilation is very important for both the health of occupants and building itself.

I won't give you any advice as how to block up a vent.

Should you follow through with your plans, in a few weeks time expect to be complaining about mould and damp.

There is no need for 2 vents in this particular room.

I'm sure he/she wouldn't take advice from someone who couldn't read a one line question properly anyway. LOL ;):D

Interesting how you came to this conclusion.

Unusual for a builder abiding by building regs to add additional unnecessary vents.

What isn't unusual is the unapproved blocking up of vents.

Yes, one who is involved in the practice of blocking up vents may not be inclined to take any advice contrary to their own opinion.
