Tractor hp vs size of tanker

    We’ve a Massey 5440 100 hp and a Renault Ceres 345x 90 hp. Would both those tractors be strong enough to pull a 2000 gallon tanker with dribble bar?

    I wouldn't have thought so, although am no expert.

    You could ask the farming and forestry forum also.

    It might be more appropriate to ask if they would be able to stop it (especially if using on public roads).

    On flat dry ground probably but I would like at least 40 hp more in case things got sticky..............

    A good question thats not asked often enough, any registered machinery dealer should have the knowledge about this, weight verses brakes, the weight been liquid slurry, very dangerous if not properly researched and implemented,
