Anyone know when the race calendar gets updated for 2019?

I think its usually November when word starts to trickle out about which races have been granted NS/NC status, and the calendar starts to beef up shortly after that.

Tragic!! Kilkee and Lost Sheep, the two best races in the calendar not NS. Third-best Jailbreak moved to end August. Not a happy bunny!!!

What's tragic is that Sheephaven (Half NC) and Harbourman (Standard NC) are back to back - great to see Westport go Standard distance, will be interesting to see the routes. Reasonably good spread around the country otherwise, would love to see a more even split between Sprint and Standard

Sheephaven is a great race - very happy to see that getting NC.

I did that and Harbourman last year, they were a bit close together then too, both great races all the same.

Half Middle Distance National Championships on the week after IM Cork.
That might upset a few people.

I presume this ensures Hardman will be the long distance Champs again.

Hardman are not using TI this year. Interesting to see how it will pan out.
Based on this move they cant get the long distance champs.

Who else can take it on?

in my mind if anything this is a good thing for lost sheep and kilkee as it ensures you get into those races easier. and are less likely to have to play those shenaingans to sit in front of a computer when you should be training.

agreed. spreading the NC around gives other races a chance to build up the following and rep those races have. more top races we have the better.

can you point out where is says hardman is not TI sanctioned this year?

i have only seen they are using their own insurance so people dont have to pay the extraordianty 1 days license fee if they are not members of a federation.

the one thing i dont get is for the last couple of years we have always known where the aquabike champs are but not were the ironman distance champs are when the race calender comes out. ( i have to be honest i have no clue who has won the aqua bike champs since they are on)

possible long distance nat chmps venues would be hardman ( unless you are right and its not sanctioned by TI), IM cork and there is the white bear( not sure if iam correct with name ) some 60 k north of belfast.
