Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What hoops do i have to go through , and what hurdles do I need to
jump in order to convert a van/minibus to a mobile workshop.

Family member who works in films /on set ect is considering purchasing
one , or converting a suitable base vehicle for set work.

    Any pointers would be welcomed.

Mods please move if I am in the wrong spot.

    Thanks

No hoops to jump through for a van, if using a minibus you would need to get it reclassified as a commercial vehicle. Mobile workshops are classed the same as any commercial vehicle for tax and licencing

What size vehicle you looking at? +/-3.5 ton?

    Less than 3.5 ton.

I thought there was a different tax rate for mobile workshops.

So do is there a need to re classify a fitted out workshop van ,

    as a mobile workshop?

    Thanks

No need to reclassify at all, its just a commercial vehicle. As above, watch the weight and if you do find you are over make sure enough weight can be taken out easily for the cvrt test every year

    Nice one.

So no special arrangements to be made at all.

    All good so,
    thanks,
